The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a team-oriented individual with great customer service skills to join the Office Services Unit in the Office of Management and Administrative Services. Under the direction of the Chief of Programs and Procedures (Court Executive 2B) and the direct supervision of the Support Staff Supervisor, this individual will assist with mailroom and stockroom operations and must be able to operate a passenger vehicle or light duty truck or van to deliver mail, transport staff, and perform other related duties.
Example of Duties:
* Consult with outside vendors (UPS, Fedex, etc.) regarding parcel deliveries and distribute within the Justice Complex and surrounding region.
* Receive, sort USPS mail and distribute within the Justice Complex and surrounding capitol region.
* Fill and deliver stockroom requisitions.
* Provide transportation for committees and meetings.
* Other duties as assigned.
Salary range is $42,827.46 - $58,067.99. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.
QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Testing: Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of at least 25 words per minute or must have otherwise demonstrated this competency as detailed below.
The appointing authority administered examination is waived for the following applicants who have been deemed to possess keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of 25 words per minute:
* All applicants who possess a current typing proficiency certification issued by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or the New Jersey Judiciary.
* Judiciary staff that have permanent status in a career service title requiring a keyboarding, typing or stenography test.
* Judiciary staff in unclassified titles requiring a keyboarding, typing or stenography test.
Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
